The Stone and Marble Industry Union held an extensive and urgent meeting following the announcement of Cabinet Decision No. (08/181/18/m.w/m.a) for the year 2022. The decision stipulated the suspension of sector activities. Additionally, the union and the participants emphasize the importance of rectifying the status of establishments that require adjustment according to the law. They are in favor of regulating all sector affairs to serve the national economy and provide facilitating services, while eliminating any bureaucratic complications.
• Secondly, all areas of Palestine are open opportunities for Palestinian investment, benefiting all Palestinians. Any monopolization of these opportunities or any region is considered a serious and categorically rejected form of discrimination.
• Thirdly, any classification of establishments in this sector, whether new or old, is rejected, as all establishments are equal and the sector should be regulated accordingly.
• Fourthly, a firm rejection of Cabinet Decision No. (08/181/18/m.w/m.a) for the year 2022 in its entirety and non-compliance with it, demanding the immediate cancellation of the decision in all its details and neutralizing its effects.
• Fifthly, refraining from unilateral decision-making concerning the stone, marble, and other industries, and respecting our Palestinian industries.
• Lastly, it is the government’s responsibility to fulfill its duties and bear the responsibilities of protecting and developing all Palestinian industries.
